The Great Encounter Debate…
Continually being updated for dead links, new information.
So this event has very little middle ground. You either find this ridiculously fake or you feel this is the closest thing to contact we have ever had. Neither is wrong, but the debate continues decades after the event happened. I personally can’t buy a word of it. I have a healthy skepticism, so unless it’s proof I can’t rip apart, I’m not buying it. I also add in, that it has to be proven to be real, not proven to be fake. There is no proof that this is real (the video footage is not definitive, not even a little), and there are no other witnesses to corroborate his experience. So please do not take offense if I am a bit… brutally honest with this.
My bottom line is this: When and if a REAL AUTHENTIC alien encounter happens like this, possibly by one man, or a small group of people, this supposed encounter by Reed / Rutter will taint the truth. The skeptics, debunkers will all point to this and laugh at them, and at us. The validity of any true encounter, or evidence has diminished because of this hoax (arguably) and so called “doctor.”
UFO Watch Dog has a lot of damning evidence against John Bradley Rutter, and come to find out, most of the personal information is incorrect. The following video has shed some light on WHO Reed / Rutter is, but it does very little to prove anything about the encounter.
NOTE: This does prove who he is and a few of the personal facts that were in dispute. I am glad a few things can be cleared up. Unfortunately does not sway anyone away from the actually video and information regarding it, which as of now has never been proven to be anything but a hoax.

So where does that leave us?
I have a nice list of things that I have questions about:
- Jonathan Reed is not his real name, in fact this is one of close to a dozen name changes before and after the event. NOTE: Some people state it is because he needed to hide his identity after his claim.
- For someone who wants to document it, he never takes off the aliens clothes (which look like human clothes), we never see the hands, feet, legs, or any other part of the body.
- It actually doesn’t look like there is a body in there, just some clothes in the shape of a humanoid. If this creature could rip a dog in two, a simple hit on the head deflates this creature and his strength?
- I find it hard to believe that human blood looks very much like… alien blood.
- The alien never moves. Not even a twitch. It blinks it’s eyes, and that is all. No movement from the flat body, no head turn, no mouth movement.
- So the alien has enough strength to rip a dog in two, but not enough to move it’s arm or leg or head?
- Why didn’t the “Dr” call the Police or have other people witness it?
- Reed recorded the alien “screaming” not with a video recorder but a tape player. Reed claims it was visible and bubbly? really? No VIDEO of that?
- While picking up the head and skull the alien did not “scream?” So just by opening the freezer door it screams but playing with a head wound… it doesn’t?
- On Fact or Faked they had a FBI voice analysis of “Dr” Reed and he was flat out lying… about everything. This is very arguable, but still another question I would like answered.
- He could make a lot of money from this, books, interviews, videos, etc… and has.
- He had the cameras all ready for the aliens, but not for the mysterious vans in his driveway?
- There is absolutely NO OTHER witnesses. Who tipped off the “mysterious vans?” Was it the costume rental company retrieving its alien mask?
Rutter changed his story. The first “story” he claimed the alien found a way out of his freezer and escaped on his own accord. So that begs to question, the alien couldn’t move a muscle when Rutter was filming it… yet the alien could open a freezer from the inside with no handle, and escape. But there is absolutely NO movement in the Alien in this video. So my theory, is that Rutter decides the first story just is not going to be feasible. So he concocts a story about mysterious vans. “Mysterious Vans” that have no real description, that show up despite no witnesses. If you were trying to cover something up, get away with a lie, what would you do?
So lets move on to the fact he calls himself a Doctor, and yet doesn’t keep samples, takes readings, no experiments and does not try to help the creature or does anything but ball it up in a freezer? Reports claim the people testing the blood and tissue samples were “murdered.” If that is true it is horrific. But after reading so many articles, there has never been any record or report of any lab technicians, scientists, lab personnel or doctors murdered in or around this time in that area of the United States.The claim was TWO, so that was very distinctive… it never happened. (please spare us the Government coverup nostalgia)
I know there are doctors who are not of medicine, but in my opinion, this video was shot by an average joe, not a highly educated individual (This is very opinionated of me, but it is something I took in account). Unless he is Doctor Love from Rock 98 – this is yet another thing that does not “jive” with his story. Why do you bother to film this creature, keep it in the freezer and you don’t want to help it? Maybe even contact someone who could do something. If this is a true story, he left it to suffer in a freezer with traumatic injuries and unrestrained. Doesn’t sound safe, and definitely does not sound humane, for anyone, let alone a highly educated doctor.
I won’t even comment on the find the hovering object; for me is not even a credible piece of evidence.
The poor dog gets forgotten in this whole account and if he really did die during this, it is a horrible event. But it has been documented that he said the dog was “tore in half” by the alien. Then the story changed, per Rutter / Reed to “the dog turned to ashes.” You either remember the account correctly or you are lying. But if you suspend disbelief for a moment, imagine trying to grab a dog and rip it in half. A decent size dog like a golden retriever. I can’t fathom a human being able to do it, so this creature went down with a hit of a stick yet had the power and agility to grab the dog and destroy him. Yet, people continue to believe without truly thinking this through.
I have read many times in regards to his career and how it affected him. “Why would he give up a blossoming career of medicine, cars, women, etc…” Reed has signed off and wrote multiple books, made a lot of money doing it. You can buy his book now if you don’t believe me. You think this is going to the Humane Society in honor of his dog? I doubt it. When you have questions and their is a motive present, you are now in the prove me wrong category. Which no one has, nor do I believe anyone will with the current evidence (with nothing new).
He has back peddled on how the alien escaped, how the dog died and what he did after he came back from gathering the creature. So let’s take the personal information out all this and lets boil it down to:
An alien encounter that has no tangible evidence.Whether you believe him or not, this is the truth.
- Where is the body? Some vans took it away.
- Why no blood and tissue samples? He did, but the people doing the testing were “murdered.”
- What did you do with the dog? No one knows.
- Where are the people corroborating his story? There is not any, and conveniently “not available” now or the time of the event. No messages to friends and no one to step forward and tell us he tried to contact him.
- What evidence is there? A video of “something” wrapped up that blinks once. doesn’t make a sound, doesn’t move a muscle and the body looks to be grossly undersized in accordance to this creatures head.
- So he is on the run because of these “assassins”? No, he was readily available to do an interview on a popular sci-fi show.
- Does he have video of the autopsy? Despite being of the medical profession, psychological or not, he does not perform this. Just a quick grab of the eye lids.
Gathering all the evidence is important to me and the many comments brought to my attention many things. Thank you all for participating in this. I have updated this article to reflect some of the new found information in regards to the personal information of Reed / Rutter.
I get a lot of feedback from this article, and I am sorry if the facts and information I know punch holes in your beliefs. There is absolutely no proof Rutter / Reed had an alien in his freezer. A poorly shot, planned, acted video with a horrible alien doll is not proof, in fact it diminishes this event. Take the evidence, and it is crystal clear this guy is a career con artist and the people who want to believe so much, is a victim.
If you want to believe, I encourage you to believe. Just don’t fall victim to hoaxes. Things like this take away from a possible real encounter that should be investigated. He should be ashamed of himself.

I have only concluded the obvious end result. What do I mean by that? First there has to be evidence that can be analyzed. There is none. I can surmise that you are assuming this video is hard evidence. If that is the case, I can show you clips of the movie E.T. and proceed to ask you to “prove this a fake.” When evidence is circumstantial, unproven and have the ability to be manipulated, it is no longer hard evidence. Without hard evidence, this is “prove to everyone this is real” not the other way around… I don’t know why I am explaining this to the Journalistic Standard, this should be journalism 101.

I too watched the Fact or Faked episode with this segment and had it pegged as a hoax long before Ben proclaimed him to be untruthful. I think my exact words were do ya think?? Duh my teenagers could have done a better job. And as to the fact this is a really famous encounter, neither me or my loving compainion and fellow paranormal junkie had heard of it before. And we watch quite a bit of this genre. What really put it over the edge for me was when he stated that his dead dog had burst into flames and ended up a pile of ash. That was one of the first things I wondered after hearing the “facts”. What the hell happened to the poor dog? This was not even good as a comedy so this gets nothing from me!

You should see the supporters for this guy. He has been exposed as a con artist and a fraud yet people make up reasons to believe. Interesting. I have read way to many stories and articles completely telling me the opposite of what this video is showing me. Unfortunately with the internet today, every single one of these photo’s could of been doctored and faked. I still believe the whole thing was a hoax, I can’t find anything that removes it from a fact. If you want to believe it to be true that is fine, I should respect that. So I received a comment this morning. Not only was it rude and condescending but filled with the lollipops and rainbows the followers of John Rutter (Rutter being his real name) spew in his defense. Is this the only way they know how to communicate. What I have here is NOT some conspiracy, from legitimate sources and just a bunch of common sense.
I was going to post the comments, but decided against it. This site is made for discussion not poop throwing. If you don’t like the article, then DEBUNK ME… prove me wrong with FACT and links and articles and whatever you have. I am half skeptic half believer… make me believe but do it like you were a HUMAN BEING.
Bottomline is, I know they don’t have it and they won’t do it. It is all a fantasy in their head that they love living, and anything that derails them from that fairy tale… they attack. This being a good case in point.

He explains to the “Fact or Faked” people (the episode is on right now on Syfy), that, the remains of his dog (which he says was screaming for its life while being ripped apart) became white ash on the ground.
My question is, once you clubbed the alien, knocking it unconscious, why wouldn’t you think to gather some of your dog’s ash to analyze or at least help prove your outrageous claim?

i was watching youtube and came across this so call Dr reeds encounter with alien.. then i continued watching the ‘heavy breathing video’ which i thaught was shot in 1970s coz the vietnam war documentry was better.. looks to me like some kind of video from vintage XXX video quality. 1998 is not a damn far away year. video quality was good then not that that good but this video was shitty. i watched movies in VCD quality in 1990s so this video was shit.. i watched 3 or 4 videos of dr reed and my conclusion or my personal believe is its FAKE and MADEUP, it was sheer waste of time. matter of fact i GOOGLED it and came here and i am again wasting time writing about this. its a HOAX and i was in college then in 1998 and was deeply into internet so i never heard about this except today on google. i like watching UFO videos but this is so much lame and fake.

Actually when I first heard about it I didn’t believe it..but after LISTENING to several witnesses, hearing the evidence, and RESEARCHING many hours of videos, articles and testimonies I have come to..so telling me I’m in a FANTASY isn’t very mature. I apologize for the ‘get a life’ comment, but one-sided. or should I say lop-sided articles like this make me furious when THERE IS actually a lot of evidence and witness testimonial and by not providing THAT LINK people can’t see the other side of the story.

Instead of saying there is evidence, why not present the evidence? Look, I believe that there is life on other planets and possibly extra-dimensionally, but Reed really isn’t credible. I don’t know what alien powers would turn a dog into ash. He didn’t think to preserve the ash for possible DNA testing? He’d look a lot more authentic if he wasn’t cashing in on all this. Why not tell his story freely?
Now about his story… You’re an alien, and you arrived at a planet where you are essentially much stronger than the planet’s humanoids. You are able to take a domestic animal of that planet (one that is sometimes reputed as ferocious) and rip his head clean off of his body.. and for some reason this dog is a vampire and turns to ash (that part is just too stupid a way to poorly write off important evidence). So here you are, powerful upon an alien world… and a much weaker humanoid can grab a stick and knock you out? Even if you are weak against physical pain (which makes no sense if you’re that strong to begin with) you should have enough speed (since you are strong against their gravity) to duck under, dodge, roll away. Heck, with that strength he could have caught the stick and snapped it in two… or even punch it to splinters. To me, that’s where that evidence becomes less credible.
Plus, the injured alien does nothing when his injury is touched, but screams in pain for no reason? No, this story is ridiculous and it makes all other alien stories look fake as well. If anything, I’d be more likely to believe that the government made this stupid story up to give actual stories less credibility rather than the lame excuse that they’re covering it up.
He changed his name cause people kept getting murdered? Who was murdered? And how does changing one’s name help when people can obviously find you as the crew of FoF did. If the government wanted him dead, he’d be dead. “Oh, I really fooled them by changing my last name!”

Ive been following the Reed story for a number of years now and have always kept an open mind,Finally i watched FoF last night on syfy and was wondering did Reed ever put out a Response to the episode if so any chance of a link?
That is a good question… I will try to find that out for you. I am in the middle of re writing this article. Fof had a few…assumptions and things they did to discredit them…they also did some things to open your eyes to this as well.

Being in the UK we only got to see the “Fact of Faked” episode with Dr. Reed just a few days ago.
The “Fact or Faked” show is an interesting programme that relies heavily on whether they can recreate something or not, and strongly base their conclusions on this.
I happen to think the Washington Big Foot case was well done……..even though the original video of the “Big foot ” running did look like a man running in an ape suit all along.
With the Reed case, some Reed supporters have questioned the honesty of the show by saying the 3 investigating the case never actually made the “alien” and the “floating black ship” themselves………but to me this diverts away from the main issue.
Was Reed lying or fantasising his story.
I do wish we could have seen more of the fact or faked interview with Reed as it was clearly edited down.
If I was the interviewer there would be certainly some questions that I would bring up.
Firstly the video camera and stills camera…….why did Reed take both out with him……unless he was expecting to see something unusual that day.
Is there any video footage taken before the “encounter”……If not why not.
Reed talks of his dog being “turned into ash”……..but he takes no footage of the remains of his dog…….why not.
The audio on the video depicts heavy breathing……..but no emotions regarding the death of his dog.,
We are also expected to believe that an “alien” that was capable of ripping his dogs jaw and turning it into ash…….was not capable of detecting Reed and his stick!
Let’s face it Reed doesn’t look like a ninja!
Having seen what this “alien” was capable of, Reed doesn’t seem to have any qualms about taking the “Alien” home……or examining it with nothing put a pair of thin rubber gloves!

But surely if you have such an encounter and have such incredible proof in your freezer…….then surely you would tell your folks and family about it……knowing that you could readily invite then to see for themselves what you have in the freezer.
Dr Reed claims that some of his colleagues have been killed……..but how then is it that Reed has manage to survive this long.
The supporters of the story will probably say that it would look too suspicious if Reed died……….but that doesn’t really cut it since Reed
remained alive even before he got his story out to the public.
Too much of Reed’s story screams hoax…….regardless of what opinion you have of the “fact or faked” investigation.
What can a man not have a hobby? Like photography?
I think if you just listen to the story as told by Jonathan whoever it totally falls apart. I mean an alien come down and is doing some sort of field work and a dog takes him out. Remember there are a lot of accounts of people being basically paralyzed unable to move of their own accord, etc by these guys. I would think it only reasonable to assume an advanced being capable of traversing deep space would be able to fend off a dog with little or no harm to either one of them. That is just the first part of the story – need I go on?
Rick, I imagine you can surmise that the alien was doing field work, but there really is no reason for an alien to be in a typical forest on a typical day. If this alien was doing field work, then I can’t believe he was violent or aggressive.
Why was the alien out of it’s vessel? Was it taking a piss in the woods when the dog happened upon it, and it was so scared it ripped it I half and turned it to ash? If it were defecating or something, maybe.

Dear JimmyZ, I will happily take on the role of one of Dr. Reed/Rutte’s delusional followers. You do not need to feel sorry for me, I am quite happy with my conclusions.
I have not seen any alien related case that even comes close to this alleged fabricated story. In my opinion the US Government has obviously won with this one. Even great believers find it hard to digest all the of alleged facts and come to any rational conclusions. As soon as you mention ‘he was walking in the park with his dog’ 99% of the world switches off. And rightly so, it sounds like a load of bullshit as soon as it leaves my mouth… BUT, that doesn’t negate the fact that this case is most likely authentic.
I was just 16 in 1996, and let me remind you all that technology SUCKED. Perhaps if the internet was a mature as today the case would have been dealt with completely differently. While today I’m a professional designer /developer in 1996 you could barely load a picture off a floppy disc.
I know for a FACT that Jonathan Reed has been near-bankrupted ever since he went public. He GENUINELY has been trying to raise awareness about the case with no financial gains in mind. So, this leads me to the only possible reason for him to fabricate an event like this.. fame/attention. You are all in a unique position to be able to youtube and hear all about his tale in the 15(!!!)years since the case. He wishes he never opened pandora’s box.
Fact or Faked really screwed things up for the debunkers, they should have just left the case alone. Reason being, it all comes back to the evidence, which in my opinion was pretty spectacular for it’s time. I have always been waiting for a debunker to get off their ass and show how easy it is to create an alien dummy and fake spaceship etc.. FoF took on the evidence and tried to recreate it with modern effects and a decent budget, yet 15 years later. You cannot compare the two. Hence, people need to start to comprehend that this case was most likely real. I’m sorry if you feel more comfortable classifying me as delusional.
If you were going to make a hoax, KISS, Keep It Simple Simon! You do not make it overly complicated. Saying you had a video of an alien in the woods alone and you ran and came home would be far more easier.
If Jonathan Reed/Rutter’s goal was fame and was this good a script writer and special effects guru, he could have released all the footage and ‘evidence’, fooled the world for a few weeks and then announce that he did it but wants to make a film. He’d get investment within hours. Wake up people. 15 years is too long to dedicate to anything that has only brought you fear and ridicule.

Sounds far fetched because it doesn’t seem ‘right’ but don’t close your mind to it. Also, I know for a fact that one of the statements was by a UFO ‘expert that nobody had ever heard of and eventually had ulterior motive.

And, who the hell breathes like that? Who??” video was from 1996 tech… ‘dummy’ you probably haven’t seen the HiRes photos of it. I have not seen anything like it before for detail and non-hollywoodisation (if that is a word 🙂 . Heavy breathing like that is very hard to imitate without going through something very traumatic. FoF’d proved it. I have seen a much higher quality version of the video that isn’t available on the internet and you can actually see it’s pupil tracking Jonathan around the room while it blinks. It gargles when it’s neck was twisted. Red eye effect on the photos etc..

Allegedly the skin reacted to our environment after long exposure. Again, if you went to all this effort to hoax you wouldn’t let something so obvious slip through to raise these obvious questions.

There are photos from every angle. Design in 1996 sucked, and it is near timeless looking. It’s also completely unheard of, why make the story MORE unbelievable???

Also, I do think it’s odd that Rutter has changed his name so many times, beginning BEFORE his alleged alien experience and that he claimed to be a doctor, but never went to college. It seems like sketchy behavior to me.

I just watched the Fact or Faked show with this story on it. I had seen it some time ago but decided to see if I could find a bit more info.
I am no video expert, no doctor, just a regular person. The video looks totally fake to me, and the story even more unbelievable. What was he video taping before the alien decided to shred his dog? I would not turn on a camera before searching for my dog that is crying out in pain.
If I ran across an alien, knocked it out and took it home…I would have called everyone I know. My friends would have all wanted pictures with it and I would have a stack of photos showing all parts of the thing. There would be a ton of witnesses even before calling the cops and the news.
Forgot something. Even though there is no doubt in my mind that this is not real, I do disagree with the mindset that FoF seems to have with if you can recreate it, it must be fake. They recreate war in the movies, and that is real.
They don’t have that mindset necessarily which is why a lot of the times even though they recreate things they do their own investigating afterwards. Like sometimes when they recreate images or videos of “ghosts” they still investigate the place the alleged “ghosts” were spotted for paranormal activity. They’ve admitted it themselves that just because they can imitate and recreate what ever cases they may have it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s fake.
I think what was worrying was trying to cover a case with so much detail in a 15 minute segment. For example.. if they’re going to debunk recreating the eyes.. it has to be like for like. I counted 12 eye blinks in under a minute on the original.

Having spent over 30 years working for one of the government agencies that supposedly covers these things up, I can categorically say that one of the best questions that you can ask yourself when wondering whether something is genuine or not ….is ….Are they making money out of this? Are they writing a book? Are they selling their stories? Are they making television appearances? Requesting money for research?
If the answer is “Yes” to any of the above, then you can immediately discredit them as con artists. The people who genuinely believe that they have seen something do not attempt to make money from other believers.

I agree with some stuff, but with this and the last video I seen in his teletranportation this one look really feak, because in this time we’re avaible to make video in very good resolution but he choose the worth tecnology, and you saw this video you could think that him use this way to recording because he can hide behind his bad recording method the especial efects. Why he not use high definition cameras? why he not recording in long shoot?
Just a thought and I’m nobody in the field of UFO’s, hauntings are more my thing, but you have to approach all these situations with common sense. Lets start with these assumptions:
1. You are out in the woods
2. You see a strange creature tear your dog in half
3. You beat it over the head
4. You take it home
5. You conduct your own examination
With fact number 2, we know the creature is violent. Why then when you take it out of the freezer or when it blinks during the examination.. would you not pulverize it with a sledgehammer? I personally would not want to take anything that could rip a dog in half into my house.
Good points. The story has changed again that the dog was not torn in half, it now has turned to ash when it encountered the alien.
If this was a violent alien, I am pretty damn sure he would of caused much more fuss getting out of the freezer, while being examined and I am not sure a “stick” would of done anything.
Imagine trying to grab a dog and rip it in half. A decent size dog like a golden retriever. I can’t fathom a human doing it, so this creature went down with a hit of a stick yet had the power and agility to grab the dog and destroy him.

Just watched the Fact or Faked episode on this today. As soon as Reed/Rutter started talking I thought “Liar”. I know my opinion doesn’t prove anything, of course, since it’s not based on science or research. There was just something very off about his facial expressions.
For those who want to discredit the Fact of Faked lie detector just because it wasn’t a polygraph, you should really look into voice analysis more. It’s not 100 percent accurate, but it can tell you if there is an unnatural level of tension/stress in someone’s speaking voice. You need a sample to base it off, though, much like when they ask you test questions in the beginning of a polygraph test.
I’m not a big fan of Fact or Faked, simply because they run a lot of stupid tests to fill up time, but I wouldn’t discredit them based on their voice stress analysis.
Look at the comment I made below… the device is 46 to 62% accurate… now… do you really want something like that to prove if someone is lying or telling the truth? I know I wouldn’t… its basically a flip of a coin… Using one of those things would be the same thing as taking a coin into a courtroom and flipping it to decide whether or not the person is guilty, its not creditable and should really be tweaked and enhanced more to get more accurate readings.. I would use those kinds of things in a courtroom if it had at least an 80% accuracy rating.
Where did the alleged alien/puppet ultimately wind up? Where is the alleged teleportation device/novelty wristband today? Where are the results of the alleged tissue samples, it would be simple to ascertain what type of dna it is. Why not do a high definition film demonstration of the bracelet in front of a panel of certified scientists, it would once and for all prove or disprove the authenticity of the whole thing, right up to now it has the distinct stench of hoax, especially in view of the large pecuniary gain rutter has derived from it. Make me believe.

Now, I read the comments. Saw the video, and basically im playing devil’s advocate here… Now, while I do agree this video is a fraud… I have doubts within myself to say it to this guy’s face… reason being… with technology being the way it is today anyone with simple software can make anything look real, and therefore makes people believe it was fake… Come on, if you were to show Independence day to people in 1930… they would believe it happened. So I think now a days people can’t really distinguish real from fake.
I also don’t think people should use the Fact or Faked show to prove their point that it is fake… cause this just makes their credibility equal if not less to believers of this. The show has been disproved on a lot of their video investigations, such as the paulding lights episode I believe.. A group of Michigan college students did some of the exact same experiments as they did, but used a telescope, and they found that there was reflections of lights from cars and emergency vehicles on a reflective sign… So their credibility as investigators is under question as well.
Now with this whole him lying scenario.. I don’t buy the use of Voice Analysis software at all… Especially commercial devices which is what the show, and a lot of other radio personalities and others would have access to, to tell whether or not he lied. Now let’s just put that somewhere in the middle… about 52% of the time its accurate… The V.A.S. is basically a flip of the coin in terms of commercial software… Even doing research on how these things work… they base their results in changes in voice tone for underlying emotional stress, and anger… Now I don’t know if anyone actually watched the video… but the Host ( the former FBI agent ) basically flats out calls this guy a liar and a scam artist… now if you were telling the truth, and someone said that to you… wouldn’t that ruffle your feathers and get you mad causing an emotional tone pitch change? Now with the lure of the show and the words FBI agent… you think this guy would be one of those men in black types… or at least that is what they make you perceive on the show… but Truth is folks he was a criminal investigator for the FBI, only for 6 years… He interrogated criminals and put clue’s together on a real ( not paranormal ) crime scene… so this guy really has no credibility as a paranormal investigator at all…

It is irresponsible for you to say this was a hoax and then offer only your opinion. This is not PROVEN to be a hoax. The guy who wrote the fake howard hughes…who claimed he was interviewing him…now that is a hoax. Don’t expect to have any credibility when you definitely say something is a hoax and then just go on to speculate why you think it is a hoax.
First there has to be proof to be analyzed. There is none. So in reality,something like this is to be PROVEN it is real. Which in no way has it been proven real. So you are assuming this is hard evidence. If that is the case, I can show you clips of the movie E.T. and tell me to prove me wrong this is evidence. See what I mean? Without hard evidence, this is “prove to everyone this is real” not the other way around… I have only concluded the obvious end result.

I’m a skeptical optimist, & whilst I DO believe in many things, this is a hoax. I understand why many keep believing, as it’s hard to say that you’ve been fooled, but please check out the MASSIVE article on ufowatchdog – this site genuinely tries to separate the wheat from the chaff.

he was a fake clearly a doctor would never just film the top part of something he never seen. the dog being forgotten just like that he not crying. your dog died and you possibly killed a alien, and all you do his off and poof gasping for air where the sobing where the omg it a fake right there his emotions aren’t even genuine in the video. i can go on poking holes in the video all day but tell me one thing if any of you who commented have pets, am sure you won’t just forget or change how your beloved pet you see as family. I say this locally this is a hoax 100%

I don’t if this story is true, but the skeptics say a lot of things in here that are just stupid. I wish there were more intelligent and thoughtful skeptics so that this whole conversation could be more efficient and lead to some accuracy. For instance, one commenter complains that the video doesn’t have any sounds of the dog? Well that’s a no brainer, because the dog was probably dead at that point, especially if the alien applied any weapon of electricity to fry the dog. (these weapons have been reported by other humans who have come in contact with aliens, such as Phil Schneider. But I’m sure these unintelligent skeptics probably think he is a hoax too? The other comment that some imbecile left was a question as to why the alien was standing outside of the module. Well if you study ET phenomenon you know that intelligent life (not us by the way) but those that are capable of traversing space/time to come here, do a lot of research on our planet. Both geological and biological research. So the fact that the being was outside his craft is not abnormal. Anyway, I have no idea if Jonathan’s story is true, but man I sure can’t stand all the dumb skeptics that diminish a worthy conversation about the story. Even some of the questions posed by the author of this website shows signs of stupidity. The one question that did grab me was about his dog. Why didn’t he take his dog’s body back home. No way he would bring home a dead alien, but not his dead dog. That is a legitimate question. But if in fact the alien possessed technological weapons to electrify the dog and dissolve its matter, than that is one potential answer. The dog may have been disintegrated to such dust that there was nothing to take back. And then an idiot might say, “well if the alien can do that to a dog, how can it not defend itself against a human and be taken out by a blow to the head. Well in fact Aliens have very sensitive bodies that are vulnerable to density of our planet. Their body’s are of such energetic constitution that physical contact to dense objects in our dimension can harm them greatly. But an idiot skeptic doesn’t research or know that. And if the alien head changed colors, that would actually be more in John’s favor than against his story. Because no puppet would change color from the woods to his home. Think about that. I mean really take a moment to let down your idiocracy and think about that. You try making a puppet that is gonna change colors. And only an idiot would change the puppet to a different color and than expect people to believe his story. Is John an idiot? I don’t know. But I know the majority of the people who weigh in on this subject are idiots, and so its almost a pointless conversation to have.

I hope someday, something will come to light, whether it is Rutter confessing to the hoax, or hell, even making me eat crow and some piece of evidence that gives this case credibility. I just don;t think you can get credibility out of a hoax.
wow…you people are really referring back to Fact or Faked…as if there is a collective IQ ranking in the double digits among them. lol.. ok. I see how this thing is. None of you who run this bogus site has the sense to actually investigate ANYTHING on your own. I am one of the MANY MANY people who have seen a lot of what Dr. Reed speaks of… but he is just a perfect target isn’t he? Hopefully intelligent people will do their own REAL research, but if they don’t, I don’t really care. It truly is your loss.
This is the kind of people that ruin it for everyone. No factual base, slings insults and spews nonsense. I usually delete useless comments like this, but I wanted to keep this as an example of what is wrong with Paranormal investigation today. Dr. Reed’s stunt is a hoax. It has all but been proven to be so. Sending a vindictive comment does not make it any less fraudulent. People (like who commented here) have to understand that what proof HE gives us is comically staged, and that the only information WE have disproves everything he has said ranging from his name, to locations, to his dog. I use Fact or Faked as a baseline, and a way for people to visit this page and understand this is a hoax. I need for people like Dr. Reed to go away so that REAL investigation and REAL information can come forth… not just uninformed people wanting to believe in anything… it completely undermines anything that could or is real. Thank you for reading, and I will be deleting any further garbage comments from here on out.

Actually, this is more than just a low quality attempt at perpetrating a money making hoax.
Bogus BS like this actually destroys the credibility of potentially legitimate examples of genuine ET encounters.
This entire episode is perfect fodder for hard core skeptics and “debunkers” who will use this debacle as a platform to discredit any and all pending ET encounter cases being researched.
I’m not going to bother with going through the entire laundry list of obvious evidence that indicates this episode as being completely fake. Many others have already cited such, and anyone who will spend even a small amount of effort will very likely reach the same conclusion.
Seriously though, this is an opportunistic scam being perpetrated for money . . . but more importantly, this is highly damaging.
It is with considerable sadness that I have been making note of this entire saga, the dubious “Dr. Reed” aka whatever his real name might actually be, and various collaborators creating such an obviously amateurish concoction of a story . . . and yet there are apparently some people who are so desperate to believe anything that might be construed as genuine evidence of ET, that they will blindly go for this.
Just for the record, I very strongly support the theory that we have been and are now being probed by various ET entities.
However, to utilize this particular episode, with the phony “Dr. Reed” as the front man for this scam, as the example de jure of a genuine ET encounter, does not serve any positive purpose, at all, except to fund this predatory, opportunistic enterprise.

Jan 2020 and I just heard an old Coast to Coast interview between the “doctor” and Art Bell. (Tune In Radio has lots of old Art Bell episodes). Really enjoyed it. It’s a classic ghost story that entertains, thrills and surprises. Art is classic Art and teases out as much detail as he can, but when the guy offers to meet with him personally to hand him a copy of the book he’s flogging, Art’s spider sense kicks in and he just laughs and moves swiftly on.
Anyway, wanting to find out more (I want to believe and all that jazz) I stumbled across this site and others debunking the story. And it is a story. A fiction. And as scary as it is, with its vibrating, screaming, dog ripping, freezer resistant alien, it’s nowhere near as scary as some of the homo sapiens you encounter wandering around the rabbit holes. Still, I found an interesting site, so it hasn’t been a complete waste of my time.
